Manchester Pride “The Biggest Ever”

International impact as Manchester Pride 2005 is hailed as “biggest ever”.

Manchester Pride has been one of the few international Gay and Lesbian pride celebrations that has truly recognised the power of the media in spreading its message of equality, diversity and human rights. With the assistance of Manchester based Impact Media PR, the 2005 festival has been hailed by Manchester city leaders and the “biggest ever public event held in the city”.

Strategically IMPR’s work influenced the following tangible and intangible effects on the festival;

• Ticket sales for the Big Weekend demonstrated a 50% increase on last year.
• A crowd of over 50,000 watched the Manchester pride parade.
• An estimated 45,000 people attended the event over the 3-day weekend period (up on last year) and estimated 250,000 people attended over the 10 day festival.
• A heightened “buzz” was noted throughout the city by leaders of LGBT charities and organisations.
